Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Thrive Connection: Mind and Wellness Therapy website (thriveconnectiontherapy.ca) or any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. Nature of Services
Thrive Connection provides online psychotherapy and counselling services to eligible adults in Ontario (including Sudbury and Toronto), Alberta, and Manitoba, Canada. Services are provided by Tamara Morton, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Registered Nurse, registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). All therapy services are governed by a separate Informed Consent and Therapeutic Agreement, which must be reviewed and signed prior to the commencement of treatment. The therapeutic relationship is governed by the ethical standards and professional obligations of the CRPO.
Not a Crisis or Emergency Service
This website and our services are not a crisis or emergency service. We do not provide 24-hour support or crisis intervention. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, are in immediate danger, or are having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please take one of the following actions immediately: call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room; call or text 988 (Suicide Crisis Helpline — available 24/7 across Canada); call Crisis Services Canada at 1-833-456-4566 (available 24/7); or contact the Distress Centre of Sudbury at 705-675-4357. Do not use this website or our contact form to communicate a crisis.
Eligibility
Our services are available to adults who are 18 years of age or older and who reside in Ontario, Alberta, or Manitoba, Canada at the time services are provided. Tamara Morton is registered and authorised to provide psychotherapy services in these provinces. By booking a session, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements. If your province of residence changes, it is your responsibility to notify us, as this may affect our ability to continue providing services to you.
Telehealth and Online Therapy Consent
All sessions are conducted online via secure video conferencing. By booking and attending an online session, you acknowledge and agree that: (a) you understand the benefits and limitations of telehealth compared to in-person therapy; (b) you will access sessions from a private, secure location; (c) you will use a secure, password-protected internet connection; (d) you understand that technical difficulties may occasionally interrupt sessions; (e) you have provided an emergency contact and local emergency services information in the event of a crisis during a session; and (f) you consent to the use of electronic communication for scheduling, billing, and care coordination purposes. Telehealth services are provided in compliance with applicable provincial telehealth regulations.
Informed Consent and Therapeutic Agreement
Prior to commencing services, you will be required to review and sign an Informed Consent and Therapeutic Agreement. This agreement covers the nature and limits of confidentiality, fees and payment terms, cancellation policy, the therapeutic process, your rights as a client, and the professional obligations of your therapist. The therapeutic agreement forms part of the contractual relationship between you and this practice and supplements these Terms of Use.
Appointments and Cancellations
Appointments are booked through Jane App at wwwthriveconnectiontherapy.janeapp.com. You are responsible for attending scheduled appointments on time. Cancellation and rescheduling requirements are set out in your Therapeutic Agreement. As a general policy, cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or failure to attend without notice (no-show), may result in a cancellation fee equal to the full session fee. Repeated missed appointments without notice may result in discontinuation of services. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel appointments due to illness, emergency, or other circumstances beyond our control, and will provide as much advance notice as possible.
Fees and Payment
Current session fees are listed on our Bookings page and are subject to change with reasonable notice. Payment is due at the time of service unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed in writing. We accept payment through the methods available on our booking platform. Psychotherapy services may be eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefits plans; we do not direct-bill insurers, but we provide official receipts upon payment for submission to your insurer. It is your responsibility to confirm coverage with your insurer prior to commencing services. Outstanding balances may be subject to collection procedures.
Social Media and Dual Relationships
To protect the confidentiality and integrity of the therapeutic relationship, we do not accept friend or connection requests from current or former clients on personal social media platforms. If you contact us through social media, we may not respond in order to protect your privacy. We maintain professional social media accounts for informational purposes only; engaging with our professional content does not constitute a therapeutic relationship. Please use our designated contact channels for all clinical communications.
Access to Records
You have the right to request access to your clinical records in accordance with PHIPA and applicable provincial legislation. Requests must be made in writing to our Privacy Officer. We will respond within 30 days of receiving a written request. In limited circumstances, access may be refused where disclosure could reasonably be expected to result in serious harm to the client or a third party, or where the records contain information about another individual. A fee may be charged for the preparation of records.
